Domestic and internacional flights are not included in tour packages. Amazon jungle tour includes, Sandoval Lake Tambopata Tours and Sandoval Lake Lodge Tours, hotel, English speaking guide, transportation, tikets for Tamopata National Reserve, and all meals, tours in other languages are available upon request.
TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1. Puerto Maldonado to Tambopata River – Guacamayo INN.
Your jungle adventure bigins when your oficial tour guide greets you at the airport, bus station, or hotel in Puerto Maldonado. Your guide will lead you on all activities for the duration of your trip. We will take you to Puerto Maldonado city center, to do somelast minute shopping for things we might have forgotten such as batteries, rain poncho, flashlight for night activities, etc.
Then journey for 90-minutes part fields and farms to the boat port community Filadelfia. Next, enjoy a relaxing 30-minutes motor boat rideon the Tambopata River. On the way, you may besee local people working (artisanalmining) in the riverbank.
When you arrive at Guacamayo INN, your tour guide will bring you to the main house, for the check-in. The manager will welcome you with a cool drink made from the local fruits and mineral water. After check-in, you will be escorted to your private cabaña, named after a local indigenous tribe, whereyou can relax and unpack. All meals and beverages at Guacamayo INN are made using fresh fruits and garden vegetables, as well as other local ingredients.
Introduction to the Jungle:
This afthernoon, your guide will introduce you to the jungle. Enjoy a botanical walk along jungle trails to discover ancient trees, monkeys, macaw (local name GUACAMAYO), tucan, and other wildlife, Lern your way around the area.
Jungle Night Walk:
Before dinner, your jungle specialist guide will lead youon a night walk along the jungle trails where you can experince the sounds of the amazon jungle to try to spot night insects, night monkey, night birds, snakes, with luck other night animals.
Return, to our restaurant for a dinner characterizing local cuisine, from the bar, you may wish to select some Peruvian beer, wine, or an exotic cocktail, made especialy for you retourn to the cabaña and fall sleep to the misicof the amazon jungle all around you.
Day 2. Tambopata National Reserve – Collpa Chuncho MacawClayLick
Wake up early and join your guide for a 45-minutes boatridetotheMacaw and parrotClayLick. Watch sun rise on the Tambopata river from your boat. Falowing a quick check-in at the Rager Station, try to spot caimans and birds, as well mammal’s such as tapir, capibara, and monkeys along the river bank. At the claylick, you will observe a large concentration of several species of jungle macaws, parrots, and parakeets. You can evensee a few tou cans and other bird species. Enjoy your boxed breakfast surrounded by nature, we will enjoy the macaws and parrots all this morning.
Return to Guacamayo INN in the late morning. Relax time in your cabaña or walk around the property grounds looking for smaller wildlife. Enjoy lunch in our restaurant.
Piranha Fishing:
After lunch, take a motor boat ride, then enjoy a Sandoval Lake Lodge Tours and moderate hike deep into the primary forest. Your guide will explain the region’s medicinal plants and the critical importance of the rainforest with in the ecosystem. You will see jungle trees over 150 feett all that are more then a century old. Along the way, looking for animals, monkeys, butterflies, unique jungle flowers, At the edges of the wild, almost an unexplored Black Lake, herewe do sport fishing.Let's try fishing for piranha and other species of fish. Youmay can see hoatzin (Pre-historicbird), youalso try to spot other lake birds such as cormorants, kingfichers, herons, with lucky rive rotters.
Caiman Night Experince:
After sun sets, your guide will take you on an night expedition in Tambopata river by boat. We will search for caiman, nocturnal birds, capybara, and other animals that are most active at night. As well look up tothe Amazon sky to find the planet Venus and identify brightly illuminated constellacions such as the Southerm Cross or Orion’sBelt.
Return, to the restaurant fordinner.
Day 3. Tambopata National Reserve – Sandoval Lake.
Before breakfast we will go on another hike through the jungle. Optional visit to the Canopy Tower to see colorful birds such as toucans, orioles, hummingbirds, trogons, woodpeckers, nuns, tanagers, jacamaras, etc. The sun rise depending on the weather conditions is incredible from the tree tops. Return to the hostel to have breakfast and embark to the port where the car awaits us to take us back to Puerto Maldonado along the same path to return to the city, once we arrive in the city we will transfer to the main port of the city. to start an other cruise with in the reserve, this time our destination is the famous and beautiful Lake Sandoval. This is a mean dering lake in the Tambopata National Reserve. After approximately 40 minutes by boat, we start a 3 km walk through the forest until we reach the shore of the lake. Since we start edour tour we will visit this beautiful body of water, the place is spectacular, manybirds, a very good opportunity to see a large number of monkeys of various species such as the red how lermonkey, brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, dark tito and saddle. mount. Rearmarmoset We will also have a great opportunity to see the giant otters. This tour will end at 3 p.m. m. in the city if your flight or part of the group leaves from Puerto Maldonado to Lima, in case you return by bus, the tour will end at 5 p.m.
